Almost everything we do, whether in work or in life, we do in relationships through communication. The way we talk and listen can hamper the connection and trust our clients experience with their coach. As coaches, we can be so eager to add value that we focus more on the outcome the client wants to achieve than on client themselves. Relationships built on connection and trust allow for greater innovation within coaching and in our client’s personal and professional lives.
This interactive, engaging presentation teaches practical skills to fine tune coaching conversations so that our clients experience us as co creating with them discovery, innovation and growth they seek. Based on the pioneering work by Judith Glaser in her book Conversational Intelligence, these skills can be modeled by coaches and shared with clients to help them and their organizations create collaborative teams and communities to achieve their highest goals.

Marjorie Johnson is President of Ascend Consulting, Inc. She provides executive and career coaching, training and development, and personal consultation. An experienced coach and clinician and an expert in human behavior, Marjorie empowers individuals and organizations to improve leadership, communication, teamwork and work-life balance.
Marjorie is a professional certified coach and Past President of the Philadelphia chapter of the International Coach Federation. She coached for Villanova University’s Executive MBA program and is an affiliate executive coach for CCI Consulting.
