From Victim to Overcomer: Helping Clients Shift Their Mindset
Often our clients are living out negative patterns and behaviors that keep them stuck from moving forward towards their desired goals. They are blind to seeing how those mindsets and behaviors impact their own successes and how others might perceive them. So as coaches, what provocative questions can we ask to help our clients discover their self-sabotaging patterns in a way that maintains their self-esteem and doesn’t embarrass them?
You’ll learn how the power of story and the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or “talk therapy” elements elicit insights by clients to help them understand the role of victim in which they often cast themselves. You’ll get comfortable with asking the right questions that aid clients in discovering their victim mentalities and then working with them to move them towards a positive, overcoming mindset.
What You Can Expect
- Increased ability to recognize victim mentalities
- Improved strategies for helping clients move to overcoming mindsets
- Strengthening coaching competency and skill
